I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at St. Louis University.

My areas of specialization are metaphysics and philosophy of religion.

My current research in metaphysics focuses on the nature of causal powers, properties, causation, laws of nature, and modality. I also have research interests in the metaphysics of mind, fundamentality and truthmaker theory, and presentism.

I am editor of Res Philosophica, formerly The Modern Schoolman.

I organize, with Meghan Sullivan and Timothy Pawl, the Midwest Annual Workshop in Metaphysics (MAWM).

I'm also an occasional contributor to Matters of Substance, a group blog about metaphysics.
